I say it time and time again but there is nothing quite like being able to capture a milestone in a friend's life. Hannah and I were good ole sorority sisters at Georgia College and it absolutely made my day when I saw the post on Facebook that Wes had proposed to her and her email that followed shortly after when she asked if I would be interested in shooting their intimate, destination wedding in Charleston next year. If that wasnt fun enough, these two asked if they could do their engagement session in Savannah and of course my answer to everything was YES! There is nothing I love more than showing off love in the lowcountry and these two were just making my dreams come true!
We sent some emails back and forth and finally decided that a walk around downtown Savannah would be the perfect setting for the look that Hannah + Wes wanted to achieve for their engagement photos. Personally I love these sessions because I love being given the chance to explore, create, and see on a whim. I also think it helps everybody feel more comfortable because it honestly feels like we are just walking and talking the whole time with just a tad bit of portrait taking in-between!
We started over on Pulaski Square and then worked our way through the most beautiful streets that Savannah has to offer where we finally ended at Forsyth Park. Rainy clouds threatened to unleash a summer storm the whole time that we were out there but we were lucky to get through the session without a drop and even had the sun make an appearance from time to time to surprise us!
It was a fun-filled evening all around and it just makes me that much more eager for March to get here so that we can do it all over again, except with a white dress + a tux next time!
