Well today is a big day over here on the blog! Not only do I have the first wedding of my 2016 wedding season to show off but it is also my first wedding blog post on my new site since I switched over to squarespace a couple of months ago and I am so excited to finally have some material to fill this little space with!
Long story short, John and my husband Jeramie worked together back in the day when Jeramie was still working for the Police Department and they have been lucky enough to have stayed in touch throughout the years so when John finally popped the question to his girlfriend (at the time), Claire, it was such a treat to be asked to capture their wedding! Getting to photograph weddings is absolutely something that I love (obvs) but when you get to photograph a friend's wedding, the honor and the excitement is instantly multiplied by like 100! It was also so much fun to have Jeramie second shoot this wedding with me because not only was it nice to have someone on the inside of the group (Jeramie happened to know a lot of John's family + the bridal party) but it was a great way to kick off the season with my best friend and hopefully full-time second shooter soon!
John and Claire have to be one of my most laid-back couples of the year and their wedding day definitely reflected just that! They spent all day getting ready like any other, laughing with their closest friends, and just ticking down the minutes until Claire walked down that aisle so that they could promise themselves to each other and start their marriage! You could truly see it in their faces and smiles all day that these two loved each other, were best friends, and that this had been a long day coming!
The two held their reception at Lynnhaven on Lanier, a rustic barn venue, located right outside of Lake Lanier/Buford GA and boy was this place gorgeous! With rolling hills, a lake, spring flowers and trees in bloom, and the perfect details to boot, they really hit it out of the park. They with their family and friends danced the night away to old school hits (my favorite) and left covered in bubbles + showered with love!
Here are some of my favorites from their day so sit back , grab some coffee, and enjoy :)
